Creating Good Skin Care Habits

Being a creature of habit can work to your advantage, especially when it comes to your skin. Finding a good skin care routine doesn’t have to be difficult. Even small tweaks can give you an advantage over those who let their skin have free reign. Remember, it’s your skin against the world so let’s get it prepared!

Repeat After Me: SPF!

Protecting your skin from the sun is a fundamental of skin care. With the wide range of sun protectants out there, you don’t have to settle for something greasy or oily. Find a moisturizer with SPF 30+ in it so you can get that one, two punch! Your skin will thank you later.

As far as reversing sun damage, olive oil is here to save the day. Antioxidants such as vitamin E and polyphenols are abundant in olive oil and known to clean up or neutralize those free radicals that damage your cells like ultra violet rays and pollution.

Have these products right by your sink to remind you to slather on these bad boys once you’ve finished with your washing routine. Put a sticky note on the mirror! Whatever helps you remember to do these things every day. After a while, you’ll find that you no longer need reminders. You’re already reaching for your sunscreen without it!

Chug, Chug, Chug! (water that is)

We’ve all heard that you need to drink 8 glasses of water a day to stay hydrated. But do we follow these guidelines? If you find yourself only reaching for water when you’re thirsty or even by-passing water for a sugary beverage, let’s kick that habit and start a new one!

Need to set reminders on the hour to drink a glass of water? Carry around a water bottle with you? Even download a water tracking app? Go ahead and do it. Your plump, refreshed skin cells will sing you praises.
