While we all know that we shouldn’t go to bed without washing our face, it’s not exactly clear on what’s best practice for your night time routine. Fun fact: research shows new skin cells grow faster when you sleep. It makes sense to make your bedtime routine high priority.
Start off with a good, deep cleansing to remove any makeup, dirt, and sunscreen. Use a gentle face cleanser with lukewarm warm to massage your cleanser into your skin with your fingers or your favorite cleansing brush. Wash off with cold water to tighten the pores to keep the dirt out while you sleep!
Next, let’s add a nice thick layer of moisturizer and slather it all over your face and neck. There is a difference between daytime and nighttime moisturizers. The latter is thicker in consistency and will sink in while you doze off to dreamland leaving you to wake up with soft, supple skin. Look for one that has antioxidants and vitamins like C and A to help repair the damage from the day.
Don’t forget: None of these will be as effective without proper rest and hydration. So drink your water and hit the sack. You’re going to wake up beautiful.
