Straight answers about the oil and the routine.
Getting started
I already have a routine that works. Why change?
If it's genuinely working, keep it. We're not in the business of fixing what isn't broken. We'd only ask whether your skin is being fed or just maintained. You don't have to swap everything at once. Add one product to what you already use and see what your skin does with real nourishment.
Will I break out?
Probably not. A small number of people notice a brief adjustment in the first week or two as skin settles into a new routine. For the vast majority the transition is smooth. If your skin is highly reactive, start with one product and go from there.
Does it expire?
Our products are completely natural, so light and oxygen slowly break them down. Each formula ships in a box that shields it from UV light, and an opened bottle typically keeps for 12 months. Store away from direct sun and heat.
How long has Olive + M been around?
Since 2013. We've made the same olive oil based products in small batches for over a decade, first from an Austin kitchen, now with trusted production partners. The recipes haven't needed rescuing.
Has anyone really used olive oil on skin that long?
Yes. Egyptians used it as their cleanser and moisturizer. Greek athletes finished in it. Roman women removed makeup with it. Across the Mediterranean it was never a trend. It was simply what people used, because it worked.
The products
Is Olive + M really just olive oil?
Cold-pressed Tunisian olive oil is the base of every formula. Other nutrient-dense plant oils and botanicals join it, but only when they bring something real for the skin. Nothing rides along for the label.
Why olive oil?
Because skin makes squalene to stay hydrated and keep its barrier strong, and it makes less of it every year. Olive oil is naturally rich in squalene, so every application helps put back what skin naturally loses over time. It's why people have trusted olive oil to keep skin healthy, nourished and glowing for thousands of years, longer than any ingredient on a modern shelf.
What does the +M in Olive + M stand for?
The "M" stands for medleys, the proprietary botanical blends we build into every recipe alongside cold-pressed olive oil. Each medley is crafted for a specific need, whether that's hydration, repair, or renewal. Olive oil is always the foundation; the medley is what gives each product its purpose. (And on a lighter note, our product developer's son says the M stands for 'Mazing!)
Won't it be greasy?
No. Seriously, no. Good cold-pressed olive oil absorbs in seconds and leaves nothing behind but soft skin.
No More Snake Oil
What is "No More Snake Oil"?
It's our position. The skincare industry has spent a century inventing problems so it could sell solutions. We'd rather feed skin than fix invented flaws. No more snake oil is a wake-up call to think about what skin actually needs, not what the industry says needs fixing.
What does "snake oil" actually mean?
Nineteenth-century slang for a remedy that doesn't work. The bottle that promised the cure and delivered a placebo. We borrowed the phrase because the modern skincare shelf has earned it back.
Are you calling other brands snake oil?
We're not naming anyone, and we don't need to. If you've ever bought a serum that burned, a cream that did nothing, or a routine that asked more of you than your skin ever did, you already know what we mean. We'd rather spend our time showing you what works.
What is the Snake Oil Swap?
A standing invitation. Bring us the half-empty bottles of broken promises and trade up to something honest. Swap events are announced on our channels.
Where should I start?
The Game Changer Set. Both oils in travel sizes, two to three weeks of daily use. Enough for your skin to decide for itself.
